How to grant / revoke admin access

Open Clerk Dashboard

Go to your Clerk project at dashboard.clerk.com → select your application.

Find the user

Navigate to Users in the left sidebar and click the user you want to promote.

Edit Public Metadata

Scroll down to Public metadata and paste this JSON, then save:

To revoke admin

Set Public metadata back to { "role": "user" } or clear it entirely. The change takes effect on the user's next page load.
